The rod and staff of nature comfort me in knowing now that many kitchen herbs and spices, the real flavour hubs of my meals are vegetative, they need neither seed nor seedling, just a cutting of what you have bought from the market, usually thrown out in the trash as waste.
Soon, a table is set before me with a bloom of more food for my tummy in the presence of my enemies, my now co-farmers. Now my cup has been filled with fancier drinks and so has my wallet, with savings from my food budget.
