Being intrigued by food and its power, usually you will think that you know more than most on the matter, which it should be like when you have the specialist school papers to back it up but school world should not fool you, as much needed as it is, a base is all it will ever be!, the real world and real people are the ultimate teachers.
So here I am, going from one chat to the next, from one client inquiry to another family joke, I get to checking in on a close family member who has had the best of the struggle with dieting and mental health for a while. Now before pointing all those fingers my way, I had tried to get involved in guiding his eating choices earlier but his excuses were way bigger than his intent to be better and that was as far as I could go.
Fast forward to this recent chat we were having, I cordially probe his current eating life changes only for him to talk like an absolute health coach on how he has taken the mantle on truly enriching his diet with the help of a diet book he had read.
By now, I am amazed at how far he has come and I quickly realise and learn the lesson from his account, that with the right information, enough exposure to healthy eating influences and the right moment of truth where its only you and your health battles present, we can all turn from staunch protestors to believers. And I was once again reminded, "Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't." From my end to yours, the probe is power, on standby armoured with a lesson to learn.
