The burgers of these days are high towers that feel like a yummy challenge, the waffles that look like smooth edible art, that ice cream sundae topped with a little rainbow in mint sprigs, a cherry, dates, cape gooseberry and some bright delights in sprinkles don't help us refrain much. With such sugar rush memories, how would cravings be out of mind, huh?
NOW!! When a little one forgets all about those sweet treats and begins to sincerely, naggingly, for lack of a better word, demand for pumpkin soup even though what he really means is a pumpkin puree, that's a giant green light.
"I don't negotiate with terrorists!" was the response that my lips ached to give the every 5 minute bold reminder of "I want pumpkin soup."
Anyway, I chose to really breathe for a moment and it dawned, the little fella has been asking for a healthy food, craving for something healthy! What's wrong with you, ma'am? Don't you see what's happening here? He is learning what you've been trying to add to his element, balancing his food, exploring it and to enjoy food what's actually good for his body. Light bulb moment!!!
I rushed to cooking and blending the first pumpkin I saw. And let's just say the young man galloped through that bowl!
Now, are cravings all bad? Also, when it's a healthy food craving being demanded, you best run and get that done within the second! What you've been preaching comes down to that second.
