Well, they might be doing my lifetime, great, no doubt, but I love them even more for this! There's barely wastage with many of the staple African pottages which won't have your bougie beef or chicken cuts, I might add! It's all about the pulses!
Here, everything is eaten all up, plates are wiped clean before they even get to the sink and tummies are left smiling for longer with the heftiness, the meals carry. After these meals, you are soothed with the feeling that there is still an organised system reigning in your home and your cooking efforts were not in vain.
Then on the other hand, you bring these meals I would rather call, spoilt brats, dictating how you can only eat so much because other bits of it, are not as edible! It's like their recommended eating procedure screams, "1 part eatable, 1 part poison! Stay warned." The sight of something left on the silverware is disturbing and as if that's not enough, there the left overs go, right into the bin with the rest of the trash! A real waste of gas, calories, farmer's care, transportation and weight!
If I lived in another era, centuries ago, it would be pottage time all day erryday! But this dot com era won't allow me, the FOMO from the food pictures on insta and facebook would haunt my dear ones and I.
